Hello folks, Episode Seven is now available on my Podcast Elements 2 Dance, available at e2d.org. And I will be part of the event listed below for nye!
Jokton

At the end of a dark street on the outskirts of town lives a grumpy old burner, sitting in his papasan chair and eating his Tofurkey while he looks out through the curtains with a grimace as he surveys the city below him. His body is heavy and his breathe overly labored, not from poor health or too much patchooli, but from knowing the inevitable truth that will soon reveal itself when he opens the laptop before him. He takes a long swig off the bottle of Absynthe that is nestled in a pile of dirty laundry by his side, opens a web browser and braces himself for yet another New Years Eve that requires a 2nd mortgage on his super hip downtown artists loft.
He types "New Years Eve in Los Angeles" into a google bar and prepares for the inevitable. An bevy of options spring forth, crowding his screen, each competing for his attention with blinky lights and expensive line-ups. Big names, big themes and big ticket prices to go along . . . $80, $125, $150 . . . the man closes his laptop with a thud, grabs his muse and slouches back into his chair, rubbing his eyes in quiet desperation.
Just then he hears a loud rustling sound coming from the closet and before he can get to his feet out jumps a stealthy little ninja, wearing a santa hat and a sprig of mistletoe that hung from his belt buckle. He presents an impressive display of back flips and spin kicks, laying waste to his imaginary foes, then gracefully lands at the old burners feet. The ninja takes off his santa hat, pulls out a red envelope and lays it at the feet of the wide-eyed burner. With barely a moment to blink the ninja quickly scans the room, finds his exit and leaps out the nearest window where he proceeds to plummet 4 stories to his death. Silly ninja.
The burner opens the envelope as a bright light shines from within, illuminating the room and revealing a small card. He starts to read the enclosed message and slowly his face starts to change. The scowl from moments before becomes a smile, the frustration washes away and his whole body is filled with hope. The dread he was feeling is replaced with the promise of a new year, kicked off by a new party, at a new venue, with a totally new ticket price . . . a promise of good people, amazing music & cheap drinks . . . where he can bring his friends and spend the night joyfully dancing in the new year . . .
